Course aims:

• Learn how to assess mental capacity and understand the safeguards that assessments seek to achieve.
• Review key elements and scenarios of when mental capacity assessment is needed. Review definitions and case law of restraint or deprivation.
• Understand what MCA DOLS means for staff and for their service users.
